Volunteers - FundRaising

Habitat for Humanity is a non-profit organization and depends on the generous donations of people throughout the country to fulfill its mission of building simple and decent homes. [Habitat also acts as mortgage-holder to new homeowners, so that each person selected for a home pays back the mortgage interest free.] Volunteers design and carry out fundraising activities throughout the year. Your skills in event organizing, fundraising or general volunteering are welcome.

Covenant Partners

Since Habitat for Humanity is an ecumenical Christian housing ministry, it is appropriate that the church is one of Habitat’s primary partners in this important work. Churches and faith organizations of all sizes can experience great blessings by putting their faith into action and building houses in partnership with their neighbors in need. As a Covenant Partner, Habitat hopes that your church members will offer their hands in labor, hearts in prayer, offerings as tithe to build a home, and faith in witness. Your Partnership could include designating Build Days for your church, partnering with other churches to build a house, developing a volunteer list of your church members, or fundraising to buy a specific item for a home. Let us know how we may help you and your church become partners in working with our neighbors.

Corporate Partners

Corporate Partners have remained an essential part of the Eagle & Lake County affiliate since its inception, providing many volunteers and resources for numerous houses. If your organization or corporation aims to build cohesive teams through good work, cooperation and elbow grease, look no further. Schedule a Build Day(s) with all your employee teams in advance. Sign-up for some construction training for the less-skilled; the more advanced team members can serve as team leaders. As always, Habitat would be glad to have you as a Partner in a fundraising venture.

Neighborhood Partners

Building community is an important goal of Habitat for Humanity, and inviting Neighborhood Partners to build houses with those in need is a valuable approach. People banding together to help families realize the dream of home ownership creates optimism and self-reliance in its own right, for the neighbors and the homeowners. Your neighborhood can come together to help build a home, organize a fundraising challenge, identify family partners for the homeowners and get to know one another better.
