Habitat for Humanity works in partnership with people in need to build and renovate decent, affordable housing. The Eagle & Lake County affiliate of Habitat plans to complete construction at the Bluffs and start the infrastructure at Fox Hollow in Edwards in 2007.  We have construction, office and Habitat Home Outlet projects available.   

Construction

If you are interested in any aspect of building houses and building community, become a Build Volunteer or volunteer for the Construction Committee.

Build Volunteer: As a Build Volunteer you work on-site in all phases of construction, from moving dirt, pounding nails, raising walls, to painting. You may also help out with on-site clean-up, transportation, or providing lunches. Skilled workers can serve as team leaders. Those with less skill can be trained at a scheduled class or on-site.

Construction Committees: This Committee works with the Habitat Construction Manager to make decisions as the construction process moves forward. Members are expected to have core construction knowledge and experience. The Committee meets regularly during Build season and routinely year-round. Committee members are often found working on-site.

Office

Not only does Habitat depend on Volunteers to do the home building, but also to do some of the paperwork, computing, mailings, legal work, accounting, hospitality, banking, insurance, grant writing, clerical work, and other general office work. Habitat is always looking for eager volunteers to assist the office in maintaining core organization functions. Let us know if you are interested in volunteering your office and/or computer skills.

The Outlet

We need volunteers Tuesday through Saturday to help with picking up and stocking donations, pricing and selling items, and rotating stock, among other retail tasks.  Please call (970) 524-0669 if you are interested in a volunteer career in retail.
